Mesothelioma deaths to peak in 2016

The number of deaths from mesothelioma has hit record levels and is not expected to peak until 2016, according to research from HSE.

Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that is almost always caused by exposure to asbestos and usually fatal.

The expected number of mesothelioma cases among males is predicted to increase to a peak of 2038 in 2016 compared to 1812 in 2007.
